UBUNTU

It is all about love.

Ubuntu was established as registered NGO in Mrs. Mhlauli’s family home when she retired as a cleaner in her 70’s.  Known affectionately as Granny by the children she has now donated the house to the board of Ubuntu for the sole use of looking after those vulnerable, sick, orphaned and abused children from the shacks of Duncan Village.  Her daughter now runs the centre full time along with a nursery school teacher.  They do this for no pay or thanks other than the reward of the smiles that come back to light up the children's faces, once they find themselves in the loving arms of these caring, kind and Ubuntu individuals.

What we do best is care.

The Ubuntu centre is a refuge and it is a daily struggle to feed, medicate, clothe and provide school uniforms for all the children that are in desperate need.  Our hope is that we will one day be able to cope with the huge demands on our centre, as it breaks our heart daily to know that at present we can not house, feed and clothe all those that come to us in total despair, but with thanks to our committed supporters we are making headway.  If you want to get involved please contact the board by using the contact page or calling us.  If you want to come visit please let us know and we will be happy to arrange to show you around and meet some of our amazing children.

If you want to donate please pay your donation into the Ubuntu Trust Account .
